Admissions Policy
The Thetford Learning Trust is responsible for admissions and has agreed a policy consistent with the Department for Education (DfE) Code of Practice and Norfolk County Council over-subscription criteria.
The over subscription criteria contained in the policy are set out below:
- Children in Public Care [“Looked After Children” as defined in Section 22 of the Children Act 1989];
- Children who are due to transfer and live in the area served by the school;
- Children living in the area served by the Academy who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer until the following year;
- Children who are due to transfer and live outside the area served by the Academy, who have an older brother or sister attending the Academy at the time of admission;
- Children who are due to transfer and live outside the area served by the Academy and attend a feeder school at the opening date of the Admissions round i.e. 14th September 2010;
- Children who are due to transfer and live outside the area served by the Academy;
- Children living outside the area served by the Academy who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer who have an older brother or sister attending the Academy at the time of transfer;
- Children living outside the area served by the Academy who are attending a middle school and are not due to transfer;
- Admission of pupils on the proximity to the Academy using straight line measurement from the main entrance of the Thetford Academy to the main entrance to the child’s home.
