Vocational Learning
The Academy links with West Suffolk College and Easton college to offer pupils a wider breadth of courses at Key Stage 4. Courses are offered at a range of levels to meet the needs of all learners.
At West Suffolk College the courses available are as follows-
- PAVE- (Programme of Academic and Vocational Education) a one year programme in a range of subjects, not all leading to a formal qualification.
- FLP- (Flexible Learning Programme) a two year programme leading to a recognised qualification at Entry level, Level 1 or Level 2. Students from the Academy are currently studying at this level in Hair and Beauty, Construction and Motor Vehicle Technology.
YAP- (Young Apprenticeship Programme) a two year programme in Engineering, Motor Industry, Construction, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Business Administration, or Hairdressing leading to a level 2 qualification and the ability to fast track to the Advanced Aprenticeships.
At Easton College pupils are studying a range of subjects including Public Services and a range of land-based courses.
At the Academy we offer a PAVE programme in Hair and Beauty, which is studied by students from both Campuses and taught in our own salon on the South Campus by a tutor from West Suffolk College.
