Year 9 Options
The Thetford Academy has put in place a comprehensive process in order to try and ensure that all students select the right option choices, which will then hopefully lead to examination success.
The process is as follows:-
Option booklets will be handed out to students at the start of the Spring Term in January. The booklet will detail the curriculum for Years 10 and 11 and contain mini guides to each of the courses on offer.
During the week of 23rd January I will be explaining the options process to students and West Suffolk College and Easton College will present information to students on their course offer.
Tuesday 31st January or Wednesday 1st February 2012 – we invite you and your child to a personal interview with a member of the Academy’s Leadership Team. During the interview you will have the opportunity to:
- Discuss whether the subjects chosen will meet the particular needs of your child.
- Discuss the demands of the programmes of study, which will be made on pupils during the next two years.
You should arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time as there will be subject information and staff available in the hall.
