To be an Explorer suggests a life of excitement, adventure, investigation and exploration! Explorer students strive to be exciting, inquisitive, adventurous young people, keen to explore their world and all the opportunities available to them.
Explorer students have shown great interest in researching charities they wish to sponsor and, as caring, responsible young people, they are keen to support work which will help young people, research and care for long term illness, animal welfare and international aid. They have specifically considered Childline and Young Carers, BHF and Cancer Research, RSPCA and WWF and Water Aid. Our students are currently debating which 2 of these to focus on.
Explorer students have many projects they wish to investigate further, in order to promote cohesion and unity across the Academy. These include ideas such as an Indoor Sports Day and trips to interesting local places eg Cambridge, which students may not normally choose to visit.
Explorer’s House colour is red – the colour of fire and passion! Explore students reflect this and are lively and energetic young people. They are successful members of the Academy community, consistently outperforming other Houses and have been rewarded in particular for their collaboration with others working in class.
Individual students have received recognition for their successes both in and out of school showing their participation and commitment to extra curricular activities.
Explorer students continue to demonstrate a positive and active attitude to all aspects of Academy life and will encourage each other to “Explore all opportunities.”
We are very proud of our students and will continue to support them in their exploration of our world, in order that they may all achieve their potential whilst at the Thetford Academy.
