Student Council / Senate
We believe that Students have a significant role to play in the processes of learning and school improvement. At The Thetford Academy we listen to our young people to help create an effective learning organisation where there is a positive, purposeful and safe ethos that gives them a greater sense of ownership of the whole Academy experience. They help us to improve the quality of life for all members of the school community through their ideas and actions.
We have two tiers of councils. Each House community has representatives across the tutor groups who meet on a regular weekly and half term basis across the sites with Heads and Deputy Heads of House, to communicate views, suggestions and information. This feeds into one final meeting of the whole Academy Senate where Students from all Houses as well as Sixth Form come together to share their voice.
